In this post I share my review and experience with Bite Meals.
I have searched for a well-priced, moderate calorie meal delivery service for years. All of them I have run into were way too expensive or too high calorie for my needs. Another issue I have run into is they don’t work well for one person. My first and only meal delivery service experience was with Bite Meals, as they were the first that met my needs and criteria.
I first heard of Bite Meals from fitness vloggers. I searched their website when it seemed everyone was talking about them but just never felt like ordering. Now that I’m cutting, I thought this would be a good time to test them out.
The website is user friendly and straight forward for ordering. They have a variety of meals and are about 300-450 calories each. Bite Meals range in price of $6-$9/each. They also offer combo packs that bring the price down a bit.
You have to order about a week in advance and they overnight ship the meals to you in a chilled box. I picked my delivery dates to be Fridays and they were always on time. I couldn’t get to my delivery until the evening and the meals were still cool by that time. You can set up auto-orders but I chose not to.
If you live within 300 miles of their location (Louisville, KY) the overnight is $20. I live in the area, so I was happy for the savings. For outside that area, it’s around $25. If you do not want to over pay on shipping, I recommend making a big order to save. You can freeze the meals for up to 3 weeks, if you make a large order.
WHAT I LIKE:
- Perfect portions that leave me feeling full
- Best price of any services I have researched
- Convenient, easy and fresh foods
- They all taste good and are meals I would prep for myself
- Saved me a bunch of time from meal prep
- All of the meals can be found in My Fitness Pal
- Kept my diet on point
WHAT I DON’T LIKE:
- Some of the meals freeze quite poorly (the rice is little funky and so are egg whites thawed out)
- The combo packs include breakfast, which I have no need for
- After 3 orders (5 weeks’ worth), I’m now a little burnt out on them and am going to prep on my own for a few weeks
MY FAVORITE MEALS:
- Their salmon is fire
- Chicken Bite Bowl
- Chicken BBQ Pizza
My first order, they forgot a meal. When I got with customer service, they sent me a code for a free meal. Each box has also included a “scratch off” and each time I got a code for a free meal out of that.
Overall, I have been very happy with this service. Of course doing meal prep on my own is cheaper, but since I have been traveling and slammed with work, this was a lifesaver. I can see myself ordering again when I’m going through those times. I also think this is a perfect solution for someone wanting to get their diet back on track or who hates cooking.
Bite Meals is a meal delivery service ranging in price from $6-$9/ea with overnight shipping of $20-$25. Their meals are fresh, convenient and tasty. They are great for dieters, those who want to get their nutrition back on track or those who have no desire to cook. I had a good 5 week experience with them.
